Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. was incorporated on 15th september 2000 . It took over the business of providing of telecom services and network management from the erstwhile Central Government Departments of Telecom Services (DTS) and Telecom Operations (DTO), with effect from 1st October‘ 2000 on going concern basis.It is one of the largest & leading public sector units providing comprehensive range of telecom services in India.

The State Government Constituted a Corporation by the name of UTTAR PRADESH JAL NIGAM in the year 1975 which came into existence with effect from 18th June 1975. Its area of operation extends to whole of Uttar Pradesh excluding Cantonment areas under an Act called as Uttar Pradesh Water Supply & Sewerage Act, 1975. The basic objective of creating this corporation is development and regulation of water supply & sewerage services and for matters connected therewith.

In 1875, a 45 mile rail line from Dalsingsarai to Darbhanga reached out to famine affected areas and became the cornerstone in the history of the North Eastern Railway. North Eastern Railway came into existence on 14thApril 1952, when two complete railway systems viz. Oudh Tirhoot Railway & Assam Railway and Fatehgarh district of BB & CI Railway were merged into one system and was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.It stretched from Achnera near Agra in the West to Ledo near the border of West Bengal in the East.

The Public Works Department execute the construction, improvement, strengthening and maintenance of roads and bridges. The responsibility of construction of certain buildings of the state government and their maintenance is also upon this department. The department undertakes the maintenance of National Highways passing through Uttar Pradesh which are not covered by the National Highways Authority for which funds are provided by the Government of India.

U.P. Rajkiya Nirman Nigam was established in august 1975 as undertaking under U.P. State Government . To fulfill the objectives the Nirman Nigam , Started work in 1975 with share capital of Rs. 5 lakh , in 1977-78 Government provided share capital of Rs 100 lakh and out of Rs 100 lakh share capital Nigam refunded Rs 75 lakh to government as part of profit.
